Job Title:
Assembly Operative


Location:
Ashford, Kent


Salary:
up to £28,000


Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pM/Friday 7:30 - 12pm

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Manufacture parts used within the finished product assemblies in house, using the variety of CNC machinery.
  • Work with other functions of the business to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
  • Participate in conversations and support ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Sub assembly and final assembly of company products.
  • Checking fit and problem solving.
  • Packaging ready for dispatch.
  • Effective communication, to ensure good management of time and resources.
  • Selecting and packing spare parts for dispatch.
  • Assessing damage and associated causes on failed products.
  • Repairing failed products.
  • Checking goods in quantities and quality control.
  • Quality check and basic testing of finishedproducts.
  • Monitoring stock levels.
  • Assisting with stock taking.
  • Monitoring tools and requesting replacements where necessary.
  • Maintaining a tidy, organised workshop environment.
  • Managing effective storage of parts and sub assemblies.
  • Cooperatively responsible for Health and Safety in the workshop.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate and necessary to the role.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Ideally you will have experience in the assembly of mechanical machinery.
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of the basic operation of CNC Milling and Turning.
  • Demonstrable experience in the use and preparation of applicable parts and consumable resources.
  • Experience of manufacturing environments and associated administration.
  • Good understanding of the working and operation of mechanical machinery (CNC is desirable but not essential).
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Good level of mathematics to understand drawings and measurements.
  • Ideally holds forklift licence but not essential
  • Ideally a full UK driving licence and their own vehicle but not essential.
