Job Description McIntosh Farm is looking for a new Dairy Assistant/ Herd Manager to join the team for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.

McIntosh is located near Otautau, so you'll be near the coast, you'll have plenty of opportunities for some diving, surfing and walking your dogs on the beach. There's also lots of great spots to go for a hunt or do some fishing, and you'll be 45 minutes from Invercargill if you wanted to hang out at the new mall
About the role... the Herd Manager duties include feeding out, milking, maintaining the hygiene of the dairy shed, supporting good record keeping in FarmIQ and MINDA, working to health and safety requirements at all times, assisting with calving and mating requirements, keeping the farm tidy and weed control. We are an organic farm, farming from the soil up and operate to the EU organic standard. This farm runs a 7 on and 2 off roster.
We run a 6 and 2 roster during most of the season and a 6 and 1 during calving.
Applicants should be able to pass a drug test.
Ideally for this role you will have 2-3 years NZ dairy farm experience but this is not essential.
Accommodation Warm 3 bedroom home located on farm. Fully insulated with double glazed windows and a heat pump. We are also pet friendly.
