East and North Hertfordshire NHS trust is committed to providing the highest standards of Gastroenterology care and developing the increasing specialisation and provision of Gastroenterology services across the trust sites.

The junior doctors have responsibility for patients under the care of the Consultants.

Supervision of the day-to-day care of inpatients will include investigation, treatment and follow up of patients, attending ward rounds and multi-disciplinary case conferences, clerking in patients, keeping adequate medical records, preparing discharge reports, assisting in outpatient clinics.

Participation in medical audit and presenting cases in postgraduate teaching sessions are mandatory.
