ASSISTANT COMPANY SECRETARY - WEST MIDLANDS / REMOTE - TO £65K


An experienced Assistant Company Secretary is required work within the in-house legal and compliance team of a Public utility Company.


Role Overview
Based in the West Midlands you'll join a large Public Utilities Company The role is varied and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Creating statutory registers from historic documentation, maintaining, and updating the registers
  • Board & Committee meeting governance (papers, minutes, matters arising, diary management)
  • Directors' appointments, training and duties
  • Statutory Filings & filing dormant accounts
  • Licensing
  • Compliance with Companies Act 2006, Combined Code and Ofwat guidance
  • Deputising for Co Sec at main board meetings
  • Acting as Co Sec for 2 Committees and deputising for 3 others
  • Assisting with ESG
  • Managing annual report & accounts process
  • Assisting with corporate transactions and restructures
  • Supporting Trustees of the life assurance scheme
The firm is seeking someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum 2 years' Assistant Company Secretarial experience for one or more UK limited companies.
  • Proven experience
  • Previous experience in Utilities or general insurance would be an advantage, but is not essential.
