Here at Anglian Water we have an exciting opportunity for an EA Communications Lead to join the team.

What will you be doing as a Communications Lead?


The Embedded Alliances Communications Lead (EACL) will work as part of Anglian Water to manage internal communications planning and delivery for our Embedded Alliances and support the delivery of their external brand.


Working with the Internal Communications Business Partners and by building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and employees across the workforce, you will offer strategic communications advice and lead on delivery.

This strategic advice will support the overarching plans of the Embedded Alliances, enabling engagement, leadership, wellbeing, customer and performance.

The EACL will act as a trusted and respected member of the Embedded Alliance management and leadership teams, providing clear input and advice on important matters, ensuring early communications input to mitigate issues further down the line.

What attributes are required?


Work closely with the IC Business Partners (ICBP) for Water, Water Recycling and Customer and Wholesale Services to ensure the communications approach ties into the wider business unit and Anglian Water approach to internal communications - putting country over club.

Work with senior stakeholders to identify communications requirements and advise on the best approach to ensure messages land.


Working closely with the ICBPs to formulate a comprehensive and cohesive internal communications strategy for the Embedded Alliances to engage employees in AW's Purpose and long-term objectives.


Working closely with Brand and Marketing and various other stakeholders, evaluate the current Embedded Alliance external brand, and agree a long-term strategy to develop the external image.

Support the Pan-Alliance recruitment team and HR team to develop and deploy a strong and agile talent attraction strategy.


Support the delivery of project and change initiatives within the Embedded Alliances through the creation and delivery of ad-hoc communication.

Build strong, effective, and trust-based working relationships with Alliance leads and partner leaders.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours.

Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal and via presentation

Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

A qualification in Marketing, Communications or a similar field, or equivalent experience.

Ability to translate complex information and deliver it in a consumable way to various audiences.

Excellent stakeholder management skills.

The ability to influence at all levels.
