    STS Aviation Services are rapidly growing, and we are looking for a Lead Workshops Mechanic to be part of our journey as the leading UK MRO. If you want to be part of the next chapter of our journey playing a key role at our Manchester Hangar then we'd love to hear from you.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Fabrication of aircraft repair parts, according to their skillset e.g. composite repair, as required IAW approved maintenance data.
    • Maintenance of customer aircraft components to the highest standard.
    • To assist with hangar maintenance inputs when required.
    • Undertake routine maintenance checks and modifications as directed by the Workshop Supervision.
    • Work with Workshop/Engine Shop Manager, Supervisor and B1 or B2 Certifying Engineers to identify impending problems and generate solutions.
    • Provide updates to the supervisory team and B1 or B2 Certifying Engineers on any issues impacting their work plan.
    • Report any unsafe situations to their manager and via the internal reporting system (Centrik).
    • Carry out maintenance and structural repairs in accordance with approved Maintenance Data, in line with their training and skillset e.g. either composite repairs or sheet metal.
    • Accountable for the technical integrity of all work carried out under their control.
    • Undertake career development via engagement with the Mechanics Passport Scheme.
    • Maintain the highest standards of tool control within the work area.
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
    • Ensure the Company Health and Safety policy is adhered to at all times.
    • Maintain the expected standards of time keeping, discipline and productivity.
    • Flexible working attitude in a fast-changing environment.

    Skills & Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a composite repair technician or a sheet metal worker.
    • Indentured apprenticeship or equivalent in an aviation engineering or similar mechanical engineering field.
    • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and be flexible to meet changing working requirements.
    • Strong organisational & interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of MS Office applications.
