About the team
The European Product and Regulatory team operates at the cutting edge of new online safety laws and regulation. The team seek to balance the need for transparency with the needs of an innovative and fast moving business. We do this by close collaboration, regulator engagement and thoughtful decision making.

TikTok's new regulatory obligations under the Digital Services Act and the Online Safety Bill require a senior compliance officer to monitor and oversee the company's compliance with these laws.

The Compliance Officer will support TikTok's adherence to its legal and regulatory obligations, advise on best practice and partner with the business to build trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to build a new compliance function and be a key contributor to the success of TikTok in Europe.

Responsibilities:

Monitor compliance with content and safety legislation such as the Digital Services Act and the Online Safety Bill
Implement a programme of monitoring and oversight
Assess and document risk, advise on and track remediation measures
Assess compliance with relevant DSA codes of practice such as the Code of Practice on Disinformation
Act as a point of liaison and establish strong working relationships with the Commission and its supervisors as well as national regulatory bodies such as Ofcom
Organise and supervise legally mandated audits and track remediation
Review legislation and conduct gap analyses to ensure TikTok remains compliant with obligations
Develop and embed a strategic approach to risk and compliance
Create and implement relevant policies and procedures
Maintain an independent mindset and effectively challenge where necessary to achieve a robust second line of defence
Advocate risk and compliance, champion a positive risk culture and help provide an appropriate 'tone from the top' on risk and compliance matters.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and professional qualification in law, finance or similar discipline
15+ years compliance experience with 5+ in a regulated entity/environment
Track record of building trust with regulators and strong working relationships with business teams
Understanding of platforms and good knowledge of relevant legislative landscape
Previous management experience
Experience building or growing a compliance function welcome but not a prerequisite
Proactive selfstarter, with the ability and willingness to take a lead on novel and complex regulatory requirements
Have outstanding communication skills that allow you to interact with a wide variety of individuals
Be a team player, be adaptable and willing to partner with teams from across the business.
