- Develop and maintain the overall data architecture strategy for our SaaS platform, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, to support current and future business requirements.
- Design, implement, and optimise database schemas and structures to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulation while adhering to best practices and standards.
- Oversee the integration of data from various sources and systems into a unified data ecosystem, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency across the platform.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain appropriate Enterprise Architecture artefacts including; Entity Relationship Models, Data dictionary, taxonomy to aid data traceability
- Provide technical oversight to solution delivery in creating business driven solutions adhering to the enterprise architecture and data governance standards
- Analyse and optimise data storage, processing, and retrieval performance to meet performance and scalability requirements, including implementing indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies.
- Implement robust data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and data masking techniques, to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Plan and execute data migration projects, including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, to facilitate platform upgrades, migrations, and data consolidation efforts.
- Collaborate with analytics and reporting teams to design and implement data analytics solutions, data warehouses, and reporting frameworks to support business intelligence and decision-making processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements, address data-related challenges, and drive alignment with business objectives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in data management, architecture, and analytics, and identify opportunities to enhance the platform's data capabilities and performance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a data architect or similar role, preferably in a SaaS or cloud-based environment.
- Strong expertise in data modelling, database design, and data integration concepts and techniques.
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases, such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Experience with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.) are a plus.
- Knowledge of Azure ecosystem
- Experience in working with MLOps frameworks (preferably Azure-ML)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Test-Driven Development and pipeline automation.
