Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Planner to support the Aberdeen Operations team.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


The Lead Planner will support:

  • The preparation, review and reporting of accurate project schedules and plans in support of the robust
control of projects throughout their lifecycle.

  • Be accountable for the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the
required level of detail and accuracy and accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies,
procedures, and standards.

  • Be accountable for ensuring schedules and plans are documented and auditable and that project schedules
and plans maintained and issued in a controlled manner.

  • Supervise and manage the Planning team in terms of delegating work, reviewing the work output of the team where appropriate, providing guidance and support, and managing the development of the Planning team members.
  • As the focal point for all aspects of planning support to the project team and client, managing the communications interfaces essential for the delivery of the Planning team and shall be responsible for ensuring systems, process, procedures and standards are maintained.
  • Be accountable for identifying areas of best practise and driving continuous improvement within the Planning
team.

  • The role as an individual or as part of a team as determined by the requirements of the project organisation.

Skills / Qualifications:

Qualifications:


  • Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).

Knowledge, skills, and experience:


  • Incumbents will have extensive relevant scheduling/planning experience.
  • Significant prior experience in a senior planning role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling.
  • Advanced understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced ability to develop project schedules and plans.
  • Advanced ability to prepare resource loading, progress and staffing plans.
  • Advanced understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
