    Description
    We are looking for a Commercial Manager to manage the company's bulk spirits portfolio.

    The Commercial Manager is a senior member of management and will oversee areas of company performance affecting cost, policy, procedure and strategy.

    These areas include contract negotiation, project planning, employee performance and managing of any risks identified by the company.

    The purpose of the role is to increase the company's sales and profit margins by ensuring the company operates sound business procedures and can sell products to as many customers as possible at the right price.

    Job SpecificationCommercial ManagerReporting to the company DirectorsThis is a collaborative role with the aim of principally supporting the buying and selling function of the businessManagement of the sales teamDealing with all spirit buying and providing the sales staff with their bulk spirits requirementsBuying Scotch whisky for the company's premium whisky rangesManaging the total cask inventory portfolioPurchasing Scotch whisky & other spirits on behalf of the companyWorking closely with the company's finance team to ensure all pricing is correct and satisfactoryDeveloping systems & processes to ensure an efficient operationRoom for growing the teamTrend analysis with support from the finance teamSupport senior sales staff with existing trade clientsSupport Account Managers on an extensive database of prospect clients in addition to incoming leadsMonthly meeting with the Senior Management team, reporting on bulk purchasing and sales figures for the monthMonthly sales targets (specifically Gross Profit) to be metAttend out-of-hours events including trade shows, tastings, promotional evenings.

    The role may involve foreign travel (at company expense with allowance for subsistence)Ensure stock list updated once sale agreed and invoicedTraining – formal/informalResearch and stay abreast of developments in the Scotch Whisky industry Person SpecificationExperience in the whisky/spirits industry is essential.

    Proven track record in buying and selling bulk Scotch whisky.
