Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team in Bedford. The role involves working as part of a multi-skilled team to build, assemble, test, and develop high-precision special-purpose machinery and test equipment. Additionally, this role will require international travel to customer sites for machinery installations, upgrades, and service support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, assemble, test, and develop high-precision special-purpose machinery and test equipment.
• Work on new machinery builds and R&D projects, liaising with the project team on a technical level.
• Complete visit and site reports during regular site visits, assisting with commissioning, set up, and error correction of ultra-precision machine tools.
• Provide service support to customers, including installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards and within specified timelines.

Requirements:

• Engineering qualification such as HNC/HND, C&G, BTEC, or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to problem-solve and fault-find logically and methodically.
• Proficient with Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to travel internationally for customer site visits.
