These represent majorstrategic investments by the University aimed at generating astepchange; therefore they are typically large scale highly complexand involve multiple stakeholders across the institution.
Theportfolio is managed by the Strategic Projects team which providesdedicated highquality project and programme support.
It ensurescrossproject oversight and control standardised reporting andmanagement of risks issues and project benefits.
It adopts a range of projectmanagement methodologies according to the specific needs of eachproject.
Typicallyprojects will involve representatives from IT HR External Relationsand Estates Facilities and Capital Development (EFCD) alongsideacademic leads a senior sponsor from the University Executive Group(UEG) and externalstakeholders.
Asthe successful candidate you will join a growing Strategic Projectsfunction that provides Project and Change Management capability todrive forward delivery of our key strategic initiatives. You willjoin a supportive growing and influential team playing a pivotalrole in supporting seniorleaders.
Therole provides the opportunity to work with leaders deliver thebenefits of change and ensure that staff involved in or impacted bychange are engaged positively.
Youwill:
Engageeffectively with stakeholders at all levels to win credibilitythrough effective relationships and delivery
Define and develop theinitiative workstreams and deliverables required. Identifyingworkstream leads forming delivery plans and addressing resourceimplications as required
Have agood understanding of business change and how it enables benefitdelivery
Ensure that progressrisks and issues are effectively and appropriately communicated tokey stakeholders utilising appropriate governance to facilitatetimely decisions
Lead theinitiative ensuring that there is a core and consistent set ofroles responsibilities and approaches across the team
Ensure good communications withall stakeholders both within the project and outside particularlywith leaders About you:
Significant relevant experience of change and project or programmemanagement within HE or a similar sector
Possess PRINCE2 APM or anequivalent Project/Programme Management qualification
Effective stakeholder engagementand negotiating skills including the ability to influence acrossthe organisation
Have a proventrack record of working collaboratively with stakeholders at alllevels
Experience in managingothers especially within a project/programme environment which isfastpaced and confidential
Experience of implementing significant change in processesstructure culture and ways of working
Excellent written and oralcommunications skills illustrated through proficient use ofPowerpoint Word and similarapp
