Our client is a well-established Law Firm in the county of Bedfordshire, providing a full range of legal services to the local community and surrounding areas, that they have served for hundreds of years.


The firm have successfully grown and are now one of the leading legal practices, with a proud and solid history and long-established relationships within the area.

They have a modern approach to resolving legal matters. However, they combine this with theirtraditional values and use the latest technologies to provide an efficient service.


Most of the Solicitors and support staff have been with the firm for many years, with many of them completing their legal training here and going on to become very successful in their own specialist area of law.

Due to continued success, they are expandingthe Commercial Property team and looking to hire an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join their highly successful and growing team which is headed up by a dedicated partner with extensive experience.


Working alongside the Head of Department and supported by an experienced and friendly team you will be advising a broad range of clients, mostly SME's on a range of matters, including Sales and purchases of commercial property and land, Property re-finances,Landlord and Tenant, including leases, assignments and renewals, as well as advising developer clients in respect of option agreements, promotion agreements and conditional contracts.


This role will suit a legal professional looking to continue to develop their career where you will have excellent exposure to working alongside the Partner.

There will be genuine opportunity for career progression as the team grows there will be opportunityto step up into a leadership role and achieve Partner status, therefore, this role would better suit an ambitious individual who wants to grow their career.


About you:


  • An experienced Solicitor with a min of 3+ years PQE within Commercial Property.
  • Previous experience in managing your own caseload of transactions within varied aspects of commercial property matters.
  • Bring valuable experience of working across various areas of commercial property and a good knowledge of the market.
  • You will have strong people skills and enjoy liaising with clients on a regular basis.
  • An interest to get involved with business development and forge new relationships.
  • Working as a senior person in the team and collaborating closely with the Partners and Head of Department.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Carry out the duties and responsibilities of a fee earner, dealing with private clients in the following areas of work;
  • Commercial (Freehold and Leasehold) purchases and sales.
  • Granting and Assigning of Commercial Leases (for both Landlord and Tenant) including Court Applications under the Landlord & Tenant Act 195
  • Commercial Mortgages and Redemptions.
  • Tenancies at Will or Licences.
  • Title Transfers and Easement Grants.
  • General Commercial Property enquiries.
  • Dilapidations Matters.
  • Development/Options in respect of land.
  • Building Estate Acquisitions and Plot disposals.
  • Agricultural tenancies.
  • Lease Renewal Notices / Negotiations
  • Ensure that each case from start to finish is being managed in a proactive and efficient manner from start to finish.
  • Manage the relationship with both new and existing client to build trust confidence and reliability.
  • Identify and develop new relationships with clients in the commercial property market.
  • Attend exhibitions/seminars and networking events to promote the company and build relationships with new & existing clients.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, enhancing the market reputation of the business.
