    ROLE PURPOSE:

    Reporting to the Strategic Design Delivery Office (SDDO) Planning Manager with a matrix line to the relevant

    Programme Director, the planner is responsible for creating under the direction of a responsible Project

    Manager and then maintaining the project plans for that programme and any subprogramme that may be

    required.

    Requirements

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Creates under the direction of the responsible project manager any project plans that might be required to deliver the outcomes of the programme
    • Provides advice, support and guidance to SPMs and PMs around planning management to ensure consistent quality across the programme plans in line with SDDO standards
    • Creates and maintains consolidated Programme plan views (POAPs) at levels required by the Programme Director for use in Programme governance forums based on project plan inputs supplied by the Programme Director, SPMs and PMs
    • Proactively engages with the Programme Director, SPMs and PMs to ensure that the plans are complete, accurate and up to date
    • Monitors and escalates variances to baselines
    • Provides data to the SDDO in order that required extracts from project plans can be created for submission

    to our stakeholders and any Transition Programme governance forums via agreed reporting standards & cadences
    • Is a subject matter expert on planning tools, especially Oracle Primavera Cloud (P6)
    • Can deputise for the SDDO Planning Manager and the planner(s) in other Programmes to provide cover for any planned / unplanned absences
    • Follows planning standards, definitions and guidelines set by the SDDO to ensure a consistency of approach across all plans. Engages the SDDO Planning Manager to capture feedback and ensure adherence to evolving standards

    KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5 years experience as a programme level planner with hands on experience of using planning tools and at least 2 year with Oracle Primavera Cloud (P6)
    • Experience of dealing with difficult PMs
    • Experience of working in a regulated environment and/or direct experience in a regulatory body would be an advantage. Experience of gambling industry or lotteries highly desirable but not necessary
    • An understanding of project & programme management methodology and vocabulary
    • Must be capable of being in Watford 5 days a week if required
    • Experience of POAP methods and tools - 2 years
    • Experience of milestones reporting levels - 2 years
    • Experience how to assess and enter progress - 5 years
    • Experience creating plans from scratch - 5 years
