**Fixed term position initially until 31 March 2025| £35,411 to £37,261 per annum (Scale J) | 37 hours per week | Location

We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to play a central role to lead in the planning, management and delivery of NCC's tree projects including the high-profile 1 Million Trees for Norfolk.

You will be an experienced project manager with an interest in green spaces and achieving new approaches to tree planting, incorporating Nature Recovery objectives and GI outcomes.

You will be a great communicator, able to work with people at all levels from NGO's, district councils, county farms, planners and other stakeholders.

You will enable a collaborative approach to work together to fulfil mutual objectives on tree planting and wider nature recovery.

An understanding of environmental legislation, green infrastructure principles, nature resource management, countryside access and nature recovery is integral to this role.

You will have knowledge and understanding of external funding programmes and enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and strategic problem-solving.

You will lead a team of four delivery officers in effective partnership working to ensure project actions are delivered on time and to budget, to a high standard.

You will also be an advocate for green initiatives in the future planning of the county and will use your project management and negotiation skills to ensure delivery of high-quality projects, leading and planning activities and outputs,, whilst supporting other members of the team.

You will be working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, external contractors, staff from external bodies and liaison with stakeholders.

This exciting and broad ranging role will also work with stakeholders to explore new project opportunities in line with the environment and people from a wide range of interests and organisations.

Key focus areas:

Lead, plan and deliver projects including '1 Million Trees for Norfolk' and the Defrafunded 'Trees Outside Woodlands'
Managing and developing key stakeholder relationships, working together to achieve shared goals relating to tree planting, woodland creation and nature recovery.
Supporting the Lead Project Manager in developing external funding proposals.
Assist with preparation of documents for statutory procedures, land acquisitions and public consultations/enquiries by producing plan, schedules and documentation
Identify and deliver risk assessments, budget monitoring, project evaluation and reporting to the Lead Projects Manager and recommend control measures and actions. Develop and maintain knowledge of the project area to enable informed management decision making.
Present management and design of projects to the Lead Projects Manager and appropriate boards and steering groups regarding progress on matters relating to risk, resource, schedule and budgetary control of projects
Managing/leading project delivery involving a multidisciplinary team, internal organisations, external contractors, staff from external bodies and community representatives
