An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Women's Health Division at University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, as the Matron for Governance, Safety and Assurance


The post holder will take a lead role, in partnership with the Director of Midwifery (DOM), Clinical director for maternity and Divisional General Manager, in developing the Division's strategic direction and policy framework in relation to clinical services, ensuring that the division contributes to the achievement of corporate objectives and that effective governance arrangements are implemented and maintained.

The post holder will ensure governance structures and processes are effective, and embedded according to the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework PSIRF.


The post holder will be a strong advocate for excellent family centred care and provide professional leadership to midwifery, nursing and nonregistered staff at all levels, ensuring that care is provided to a high standard.

They will work collaboratively with other trust equivalent leads, Local Maternity and Neonatal System as well as regional forums to share best practice and building a supportive network.


The post holder will be required to communicate and provide highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
