The Bexley Education Service is in partnership with a Bexley based school looking to employ a special needs Teaching assistant to support a bright and well-resourced primary school in the London borough of Bexley.

The role will be working as a general TAin the mornings and supporting a 1:1 with a mild needs child in the afternoons


Job role:

To provide support and care for young students learning and emotional literacy both in and out of class.

To provide a safe, stimulating, and therapeutic environment for students, promoting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development andenabling them to achieve their potential.

  • Position: 1:1/ General teaching assistant
  • Type: 1 Year Fixed Term contract
  • START DATE: ASAP

  • To support the behaviour and emotional development of students within lessons.
  • Liaise with teachers and other staff about needs and progress of students receiving support.
  • Meet with the Pastoral Manager/ Deputy Manager and/or SENCO to discuss progress and allocation of casework
  • Guide and mentor students to that targeted, measurable and significant improvement in secured.
  • Work in partnership with the SENCO to ensure regular high quality and frequent communication between the schools and the home so that parents are involved and students' attitudes to learning is maximised.

Requirements:


  • CACHE, NVQ, or Level 1, 2 or 3 in any supporting teaching or childcare qualification or RELEVANT teaching assistant experience
  • Right to work in the UK (passport)
  • DBS on the update service or ability to complete a new check
  • Overseas police check in place (if applicable)
