    Starting from £25,068, depending on experience, knowledge and qualifications

    Would you like to work in one of England's finest landscapes and a World Heritage Site? We have an opportunity for a Planner to join our busy development management team to help us deliver a high quality planning service, based in the thriving market town of Kendal on the edge of the Lake District.

    With a planning qualification and an understanding of Development Management work, you will be readily able to take on your own casework at a level appropriate to your experience and knowledge, with support as required.

    In planning application work you would handle a diverse caseload covering all aspects of development management. You would make recommendations (including presentation at Committee), and represent the Authority at appeal as appropriate.

    In enforcement work you would investigate alleged breaches of control, making recommendations on the expediency of action, preparing formal notices as required, and representing the Authority at appeal or in court as needed.

    Highly organised and used to dealing with a range of tasks and deadlines, you will demonstrate strong analytical ability, be able to balance relevant considerations, and reach well-reasoned conclusions.

    You will be a great communicator and able negotiator, who cares about sustaining the future of the National Park's spectacular living and working landscape, rich built and cultural heritage, and its diverse natural environment.
