Cisco Network Engineer

This key company, employing over 5000 staff, is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to work alongside experienced technical engineers across the network connectivity, voice, security and Data Centre technology areas.

This is a hybrid role, 2x per month in the office in Cornwall. Inside IR35.
The primary aims are

1) Boost the delivery team responsible for migrating the primary Data Centre from current Cisco Nexus 6000 infrastructure to an Nvidia/Mellanox Spectrum network, running Cumulus OS.

2) Support the network teams as they migrate from the existing internally managed OSPF based WAN to a new managed HSCN network - scoped to over 120 WAN locations and 400+ direct Internet connected sites.

You will be expected to be comprehensively experienced with a broad range of network routing protocols (with particular focus on BGP and OSPF), their operation/integration within an Enterprise Network environment and demonstrate competency.

Key Technical skills are

Strong background as Cisco Network Engineer
Enterprise LAN/WAN and Data Centre network services
Cisco Nexus Data Centre
HPE/Aruba Access and Distribution Switches
Aruba Wireless Access Points & Controllers
HPE IMC and Aruba Airwave network ops tools
Nice to have skills include
Checkpoint & Juniper SRX Next Generation Firewalls
Forcepoint Web Content Filtering
Barracuda Web Application Firewalls
Citrix vADC & Pulse vADC Application Delivery Controllers

Experience Needed

Demonstrable, applied knowledge of installing, configuring and/or supporting and maintaining a Cisco Nexus network environment is essential.
Valid Certification and relevant recent indepth experience of Cisco Nexus network implementations is highly desirable.
Experience of working within an Arubabased network environment is desirable.
Experience of Nvidia Spectrum switch infrastructure and the Cumulus OS within an enterprise Data Centre network environment is desirable.
Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocol, common routing protocols (OSPF & BGP) and broader network technologies.
