    Company / Role:

    My client a well-known food manufacturer has created a new vacancy within their engineering team due to growth. They are looking for a maintenance engineer ideally with great experience both electrically and mechanically to join a multi-skilled team which will add cover across their operating hours.

    Position: Maintenance Engineer

    Reporting to: Operations Manager

    Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 DOE

    Shift: Monday to Friday 42.5 hour week

    Benefits: Performance-related bonus

    The Candidate:

    • Manufacturing experience, ideally FMCG
    • 18th Edition (Desired)
    • Apprenticeship time served
    • Electrical qualifications and/or experience
    • Mechanical qualifications and/or experience
    • IOSH or Risk Assessment skills advantageous
    • Team player, diligent and dynamic with the ability to work alone when needed

    Responsibilities:

    • Managing and carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
    • Proactive approach to developing the PPM system.
    • Reactive maintenance when required
    • Ensure all paperwork is completed and records are kept up to date.
    • Assist process engineers with the commissioning of new equipment.
    • Carry out health and safety assessments of new and existing equipment and liaise with process engineers to ensure safety procedures are communicated.
    • Ensure the site is run efficiently with engineering solutions and recommendations.
    • Equipment downtime is reduced via a proactive approach to maintaining equipment.
    • Initiate improvements in maintenance practices, systems and procedures leading to continuous improvements in reliability, quality, cost, GMP and customer service.
    • Assist with analysing effective repairs and maintenance spending.
    • Undertake risk assessments as required.
    • Ensure good hygiene and standards are maintained.
    • Ensure good communication.
    • Any other duties as requested by your Line Manager.
