    Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

    Our busy Logistics Department is looking for a Stock Controller to work on a permanent, full time basis in our factory in Merthyr Tydfil.

    You will be required to work Monday to Friday - 7.00am to 4.00pm with a salary of between £30,000 to £31,000 per annum depending on experience.

    The purpose of the job is to work as part of the Logistics Team, undertaking all duties as directed by the Logistics Manager. You will play a key role in stock control and all other tasks as directed by management. The role involves you being an integral part of the team and working together. You are required to take responsibility for your own work, ensuring the accurate recording of stock.

    Requirements

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To oversee weekly inventory audits, discrepancies investigated.
    • To train and coach operators in other departments to raise competence levels.
    • To run daily reports and share with department responsible.
    • To ensure the stock system is accurate and up to date.
    • Daily cold store checks and weekly reconcile.
    • Liaise with cold stores to review KPI's and offer assistance with issues.
    • Support Finance and other areas with stock questions.
    • Liaise with departments outside of logistics to investigate stock discrepancies.
    • Analyse date and communicate.
    • To set up and chair daily stock meetings.
    • Carry out route cause analysis.
    • Scrutinize and approve invoices.
    • Assist with ad hoc queries.
    • Keep reports and trackers up to date.
