    About the team

    This role offers the exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing Platform Management function at PwC. We are responsible for the management & stability of enterprise systems that form the core infrastructure for the firm.

    Your role will include managing & maintaining large technology infrastructure, with a focus on Desktop, and working closely with various stakeholder groups to ensure maximum uptime & reliability of this platform. This is a crucial role as many of the firm's offerings rely on the quality of our Desktop Estate (PC, Mac and VDI)

    Job Skills

    • Provide technical input to produce clear and visible roadmap for the Desktop Platform that communicates desired outcomes and goals
    • Gathers feedback from clients, developers and product stakeholders to continuously improve the Desktop's platform features and experience
    • Contributes to a Desktop platform lifecycle plan that builds in quality assurance whilst being mindful of data protection processes and frameworks
    • Provide input on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) data and advise on metrics for the basis of showback/chargeback
    • Be accountable for ensuring that we deliver services into operations inline with Information Security Policy Controls Standard and Operations Delivery Processes
    • Be accountable for ensuring production platforms (eg Windows, Apple MacOS, VMWare WorkspaceOne) are operationally reliable, available and secure inline with the Information Security Policy Controls Standard
    • Demonstrate compliance with Information Security Policy Controls Standard and Operations Delivery Processes. Providing necessary evidence to support audit activities as required.

    Related Expertise

    • Ability to articulate complex technical to non technical audiences in order to support the optimisation of the Desktop platform service.
    • Experience working with large enterprise platforms that form the critical infrastructure of an organisation (eg MS SCCM, MS Intune, VMWare WorkspaceOne)
    • Ability to collaborate with a multitude of different people from within technology or the business.
    • Bring experience of technology to provide input on platform selection and development, and drive consistency and innovation throughout the Platform Management team, promoting the adoption, use and best practices of platform services

    Technical Experience

    The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of the following technologies:

    • Microsoft Win11 (OS, Windows Registry, Device Manager, File and Folder Structure/rights, User Access Controls)
    • Scripting and Software packaging (eg Microsoft Installer, Powershell, Command Interface, WMI)
    • Group Policy Object (GPO)
    • Notebooks, Desktops and related accessories including and understanding of the internal components and their overall functions (eg CPU, Chipset, Memory, Hard Disk)
    • PC software distribution (eg MS SCCM, MS Intune, MS Endpoint Manager, WMWare WorkspaceOne)

    An understanding of the following technology would be desirable:

    • Security Software (eg Bitlocker, Windows Defender)
    • Networks (protocol stack)
    • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and workstations (VDI eg Windows365, VMWare, Citrix)
    • Active Directory
    • Messaging (Mail, IM)
    • Cloud-ready architectures utilising infrastructure and platform cloud services (eg Azure, Microsoft365)
    • Product knowledge (MS Office, Google Workplace, Peripherals, Certificates, Imaging, Drivers, Printing, HTML and SQL)
