This post is a locum Dermatologist Consultant role for 2.625 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week where you will join a team consisting of one Clinical Oncologist, one other Dermatologist, rotational Specialist Registrars and a CNS.

The outpatient clinics and MDT will be held at the Christie main site


The appointee will be based at The Christie and will provide senior input to out-patient services for cutaneous lymphoma patients as per the agreed job plan.


The appointee will participate in the weekly cutaneous lymphoma MDT on their working weeks as per the agreed the job plan.


The appointee will be expected to participate in the supervision, teaching and mentoring of junior medical staff, medical students and specialist nurses.

The appointee will help to participate in regular departmental audits and projects to help with the development of the cutaneous lymphoma service.

The Christie is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year.

We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The appointee will be based at The Christie and will provide senior input to out-patient services for cutaneous lymphoma patients as per the agreed job plan.


The appointee will participate in the weekly cutaneous lymphoma MDT on their working weeks as per the agreed the job plan.


The appointee will be expected to participate in the supervision, teaching and mentoring of junior medical staff, medical students and specialist nurses.

The appointee will help to participate in regular departmental audits and projects to help with the development of the cutaneous lymphoma service.


The appointee will demonstrate commitment to, and participation in, clinical governance, risk management, clinical audit, appraisal and annual job planning process.


The appointee will help promote effective communication within the department and with the wider hospital by regular liaison with specialist medical and service departments.

Research

The appointee will be encouraged to undertake appropriate research related to area of expertise and the service provided.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)


The Trust supports the requirements for CPD as laid down by the GMC and royal colleges and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities.

The annual review will examine all aspects of the job plan (including any Educational components) and will also include an assessment of professional development with defined goals for the future.

Ability to research outcomes in clinical practice.
