  • What you will do

    We are looking for a Fire Suppression Design Engineer to join our team. Based out of our X-Cell Misting office in Hethel, the Fire Suppression Design Engineer is responsible for the full design of fire protection systems using site survey or supplied drawings.

    How you will do it

    You will design water-based suppression systems, including High pressure and Low-pressureWater Misting Systems, Sprinklers, Dry Risers, Wet Risers, Hose Reels and Hydrants, including their water supplies. You will be required to manage day-to day design issues with clients, M&E design teams, Fire Consultants, Installers, Local Fire and Water authorities and Fire Insurers.

  • You will do this through delivering new and additional designs work:
  • Understanding of the customers / contacts within business.
  • Ensuring design schedule is met for approval, fabrication & construction, collaborating closely with sales & contract manager with onsite specifications, installation & bracketing Completing Design Risk Assessments,
  • Daily liaison with the client / customer both internal and external.
  • Ensure design variations / systems are brought together and are commercially effective that meet the customer's specification and standard requirements.
  • You will work closely with your new business colleagues to ensure a smooth handover of the projects from sales through design and completion with all design work required.
  • What we look for

    Essential

  • Fully conversant with LPC Rules BS EN 12845, BS 9251, NFPA and FM Global rules for all hazard classifications from conceptual design to completion.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and if you also have 3D capabilities it would be a distinct advantage.
  • Capable of producing computerised hydraulic calculations and associated drawings.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred

  • It would be preferable, if you have passed some or all of the LPCB's Design Competency
  • Examinations (Basic, Intermediate & FHC).
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft office will be advantageous.
  • Design experience and knowledge of other types of fire suppression systems will be of real benefit.
