As the Governance and Risk Midwife, you will be expected to support the development and implementation of a robust system of auditing within the Maternity Services and will co-ordinate the development and updating of all guidelines within the maternity directorate.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered midwife with excellent leadership skills to join our Governance and Risk team.


Specifically, the role will provide clinical expertise to lead on the effective and timely review of incidents and their management, datix management, report writing and reporting and supporting local governance arrangements.


You will be working closely with the Maternity Risk and Governance Manager, the Lead Obstetrician for Risk and the Senior Midwifery Management team as well as the Patient Safety Team, with the aim of providing a coordinated approach to risk management within the maternity unit.
