    The Vacancy

    As a member of the Delivery Lead community, you will work with one of our Third Party Administration (TPA) Value Streams. Your primary goal is to support your team to deliver value through agile ways of working. Using your skills, you will help your team focus on the continual flow of customer value, helping them become more efficient, and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement.

    The Vision of Third Party Administration is To provide the best member, client and colleague experience in the most efficient and profitable way, and to that end we have four Value Streams in place.

    We have two Delivery Lead vacancies, one in the Client Experience Value Stream and one in the Data Journey Value Stream.

    The Client Experience Value Stream is dedicated to delivering exceptional value to our clients, ensuring a seamless and positive experience by focusing on what they need from us in administering the scheme on their behalf.

    The Data Journey Value Stream provides a contemporary data platform that enables clients to validate and improve their scheme data, which is then utilised by a number of downstream applications.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the effective day to day running and maturity of agile practices in your delivery team.
  • Ensure Value is delivered as quickly and sustainably as possible with incremental delivery of software.
  • Nurture a culture of continuous improvement in the team, looking for ways to solve problems, creating efficiencies and fast feedback cycles.
  • Help the team to manage workflow, identifying issues and working to ease blockers.
  • Use metrics and data to drive improvements, such as cycle time and throughput.
  • Pull business stakeholders towards your delivery team, building a shared understanding of problems to be solved and how to solve them.
  • Help your team balance the requirements of quality, time, scope, and risk.
  • Ensure your team is happy, focussed, engaged, challenged, enthused and have opportunities to grow their careers.
  • Collaborate on setting Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), and on their delivery.
  • Support ongoing recruitment activity and influence decisions on team structure.
  • Support your team through times of change, ensuring psychological safety.
  • Manage risks and compliance in line with Hymans' policies and market regulations.
  • Be an ambassador for agile principles and be comfortable coaching these principles.
  • Essential Skills, Knowledge and Personal Characteristics Required:

  • A skilled agile/lean practitioner in a software development environment.
  • A highly motivated thinker with the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • First class planning skills and ability to manage competing demands under pressure.
  • Able to see a problem, step in and then step out when appropriate.
  • Skilled at active listening and effective questioning to quickly get to the vital information.
  • Excellent stakeholder relations, an influencer with great communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience of coaching teams to improve performance.
  • Passionate about people with previous experience of helping others grow their careers.
  • Sufficient experience of software development & technologies to effectively facilitate decision making.
  • Understanding of DevOps culture and the benefits this approach provides.
  • Experience of Application Lifecycle Management and collaboration tools such as Azure Dev Ops.
  • An active member of the wider agile community who keeps their fingers on the pulse of agile thinking and application.
