Tower Hamlets Safeguarding Partnership Strategy Manager

The Tower Hamlets Safeguarding Children Partnership (THSCP) is a statutory body responsible for agreeing locally how all organisations working with children and young people co-operate to promote their welfare and keep them safe from harm.

The THSCP Manager is the strategic lead for the Tower Hamlets Safeguarding Children Partnership (THSCP), delivering its strategic support, operational development, and scrutiny functions.

You will be skilled at building relationships within complex systems, and in creating and delivering plans with clear outcomes, illustrating the impact that joint working is having for Tower Hamlets Children.

The role works alongside the three statutory safeguarding partners and a small team of dedicated professionals including an Independent Scrutineer and Co-ordinator in order to steer and support the development of the local system to deliver on the core challenges arising from Working Together guidance and associated legislation.

The context for many children growing up in Tower Hamlets remains challenging, with the highest rates of child poverty and population density in the country, and the new Cost of Living crisis following on the lasting impact of the pandemic.

But our context is also one where we know that public services can make a real difference to the lives of babies, children and young people.

Professionals, whether in our schools which are so consistently effective in setting children up with the opportunity to do well in life, our health services which ensure that children get the best start in life through prevention and health promotion, our police who protect so many young people from the risks of serious youth violence, or our children's social care service which delivers such effective relationship based practice.

We are looking for candidates with a passion for improving the lives of our children & young people, with vision and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of partners to deliver excellent services.

You will be a member of a directorate which respects and celebrates diversity and, in understanding the challenges which discrimination and exclusion can create, work to reduce those challenges for children and young people and their families.

Bring your skills and expertise to Tower Hamlets to drive our transformation and make a real difference to people's lives in one of the most exciting areas of London.
