An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Head Teacher to join the team at Windyknowe Primary School and Early Learning and Childcare (ELC).

Windyknowe Primary and ELC strive to create a respectful and trusting community in which all contributions are valued.

Windyknowe Primary School and ELC is a non-denominational school serving Bathgate and Armadale which is part of the Armadale Academy Cluster.

The school roll for session is currently 365 pupils, organised across 15 classes. The ELC will be re-opening in August 2024 following a temporary closure due to building works.

In addition to the Class Teachers and Support for Learning Teacher, the management structure consists of a Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher and a Principal Teacher.

The school is supported by a team of Pupil Support workers that work across the school. 1 Early Years Officer and 5 full time Early Years Practitioners.

The school has a strong community ethos and benefits from a supportive and proactive Parent Council and Parent Staff Association.

The Parent Council works in close partnership with the school and is committed to improving the work and life of the school as well as organising fundraising events throughout the school year.

West Lothian Council are committed to far reaching changes to the way we deliver our Education Services. A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
