As Barclays Risk Controls Execution and Advisory Manager, you will work as part of our Controls Oversight team to help design Barclays controls and ensure alignment to the Barclays Control Framework.

Through business partnership and wider projects, youwill use your knowledge to identify and support with the creation of controls, improving Risk processes to ensure the controls are robust and well documented to mitigate the Risk, and compliance to the Barclays Control Framework.

What will you be doing?:


  • Driving consistency of the control framework by ensuring Policies and Standards relevant to Risk are understood and adhered to, and challenged where appropriate
  • Assisting with enhancing control effectiveness by identifying opportunities for streamlining and creating efficiencies
  • Supporting the reduction of process risk by reviewing processes and helping to identify and implement controls where required
  • Supporting with the creation of new controls by working with the relevant teams and uploading controls to the Control Library
  • Understanding and identifying the mapping of controls to control requirements within a Standard
  • Coordinating and preparing monthly Management Information (MI) with timely distribution to the wider team
  • Engaging with the wider Controls Oversight and Risk Services team to understand issues, actions and potential improvements
  • Assisting the Senior Manager lead with workload assignments

What we're looking for:


  • Confident with the ability to deal with multiple stakeholders at all corporate levels including senior management
  • Ability to identify and document changes required within the control framework
  • Exposure to working in project environments with good analytical and organisational skills
  • Desire to drive effective change within the control framework to promote a solid control culture

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience and knowledge of the Risk function and its key activities
  • Ability to deliver high quality output within the timeframes required and to the required standard
  • Preferred knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
