    Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
    Experience of the policymaker and regulatory environment in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and European Union.
    Experience driving policy-focused media campaigns within organizations.
    Experience with communications related to company, operational, or reputational issues.
    Experience planning and executing integrated and scalable media campaigns.

    Ability to establish a network of relevant media contacts, influencers, and other stakeholders with an awareness of the digital influencer landscape.

    Strong writing skills with the ability to translate the complex into simple, clear and intuitive communications.

    As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; and develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns.

    We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more.

    We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leadersand our own employeesabout the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day.

    To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines.

    Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond.

    Develop strategies for engaging with media to educate key opinion formers to enhance Google's reputation in the United kingdom and Ireland around key policy-related areas.

    Work in collaboration with the Government Affairs and Public Policy teams.

    Drive issues management programmes with a policy component and serve as key communications counsellor on company, operational or reputational issues.

    Develop creative approaches to a range of policy-related media communications challenges.
