Reporting to the Planning Team Leader the primary functions of this role is;

  • To ensure the customer expectation is inline with production scheduling.
  • To provide customer service team with accurate information which will enable accurate conversations with customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring all customer generated demand is raised on ERP system.
  • To assess the feasibility of customer, expedite and deferment requests.
  • Work closely with Material Planner to ensure schedule adherence is maintained to maximise efficiency.
  • To continually monitor throughput against capacity providing feedback communication to customer service when required
  • To work closely with Customer service and purchasing in planning to the available capacity
  • To ensure the effective, economic, and efficient flow of parts through production.
  • Communicate with call off suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fastmoving materials and consumables
  • Analyse usage patterns and communicate with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure stock levels are optimised to support production.
  • Raise and provide production with work orders in line with schedule.
  • Communicate supply shortfalls and ensure mitigation is in place to minimise effects on customer demand.
  • Provide aspects of cover for Planning Team leader
Provide ad-hoc support within the business to ensure the site's Business Objectives are achieved.

Education / Technical Experience
Knowledge of production planning and ERP systems is essential, preferably with practical experience.

Previous experience within a production planning role.

Interpersonal/communication skills.

Must possess good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft excel.

Able to process high volumes of transactions quickly and accurately

GCSE Grade A - C in English & Maths.

Experience dealing with suppliers

OEE scheduling software experience

Understanding of lean manufacturing methods
