    Paraplanner - Team Leader - National Wealth & Investment Management Organisation

    Salary to £52,000 plus Benefits and Bonus

    Edinburgh, Hybrid

    MBF Recruitment are currently working with one of the UK's largest Wealth Management Organisations who are looking to add a Team Leader to their Paraplanning Team in Edinburgh. This is a Senior Paraplanner/ Player-Manager type role working with the Team Heads to oversee the Paraplanners and optimise performance within the team.

    Requirements:

    • The existing Paraplanning team is experienced and all Paraplanners are Diploma qualified as a minimum. For this reason, we are looking for an individual with a high level of experience.
    • Candidates should be confident in their ability to write all types of reports, using their experience to deal with situations with their own Advisors as well as providing advice and assistance with colleagues on their team.
    • Ideally, candidates will be Chartered although experienced individuals without advanced qualifications will be considered. Diploma qualified minimum
    • Any candidates with previous leadership or management experience will hold an advantage although this is not essential

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare suitability reports across a wide range of advice types, financial products, and investment solutions, undertaking technical research as required
    • Conduct appraisals, 121s and drives performance within the team
    • Coach, mentor & provide training to develop Paraplanners
    • Responsible for disseminating important information and business changes which impact the Paraplanning team
    • Manage the report workflow, drive efficiencies within the team and be a technical point of reference for the team
    • Responsible for overseeing the competence framework of the team by maintaining the skills matrix to understand the skills of the Paraplanning team. This will involve doing peer checks and obtaining feedback from Advice Quality and Financial Planners, including any in-house testing
    • Promote a service excellence mind-set throughout the team and wider organisation
    • Identify and report any risks, breaches, or errors through ensuring risks are logged through to mitigating actions and controls
    • Work in partnership with Managing Partner, Team Heads, Projects, L&D along with specialist teams to identify training and coaching needs and to develop team and individual plans
