Veterinary Surgeon - Buckingham, United Kingdom - The Vet Centre, Maids Moreton
Description
Veterinary Surgeon
The Vet Centre, Maids Moreton, Buckingham
Salary up to £75,000 negotiable depending on experience
Up to £5,000 welcome bonus and up to £5,000 relocation allowance
The Vet Centre, Maids Moreton is looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join our team ideally on a full time basis however we can consider part time and flexible working hours, the role can be based mainly from the Maids Morten site or split across both sites which includes Cherry Lane branch you must also be confident with sole charge.
Our branches cover all aspects of first opinion caseloads as well as major surgery cases, typical caseloads can include but are not limited to neutering, spays, dentals, minor surgeries as well as major surgeries, we perform cardiac scans, endoscopy (rhinoscopy & otoscopy all the way through to colonoscopy), laparoscopy cases, keyhole surgery, fracture repair and stifle TTA's to name a few.
Should you have a niche area of expertise you wish to focus on we can offer full support in your preferred area.
Rota
Working up to 40 hours per week across 4 .5 days with a 1:4 Saturday morning, there is no OOH as this is covered by Vets Now in Milton Keynes.
Full time, part time and flexible working can all be considered for this role as we offer a flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours, we know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance so we can find the right solution for you. Whether you need 10/20/30 hours per week across set days we can consider all options.
Our practice
We are a practice with an excellent reputation for providing high quality care whilst still enjoying what we do. We provide a friendly, supportive environment for our staff with a varied caseload alongside the capacity to advance and enhance your skills enabling us to get the most out of being in general practice. We have got the brains, the training, and the kit: we like to use them.
The main surgery at Maids Moreton (near Buckingham) is equipped with full diagnostic, laboratory, surgical and hospitalisation facilities. This enables us to have the satisfaction of investigating and treating our patients to a high clinical standard whilst referring to specialists when appropriate. We perform our own cardiac scans, endoscopy (rhinoscopy & otoscopy all the way through to colonoscopy), laparoscopy (90%+ of spays are "keyhole"), fracture repair and stifle TTA's; and improve the quality of our surgical procedures and outcomes with bipolar diathermy, harmonic scalpels and "Enseal" equipment. Dental x-rays are available at both sites with air-driven equipment, sharp instruments and "Vet-tome" to make "dentals" a pleasure rather than a chore.
Join an established and supportive team
The Vet Centre is a "market-town" small animal vet practice with a staff of 6 Veterinary Surgeons 5 FTE, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and a Veterinary Care Assistant providing top class veterinary care at our main site at Maids Moreton and branch at Cherry Lane. We are a long-standing mostly home-grown team with a progressive and welcoming attitude. Buckingham is within a grammar school catchment area.
