    This is an opportunity to join the Built Environment Team, a team that is committed to finding creative but feasible solutions for the public sector, centred on the unlocking and bringing forward of challenging and complex-built environment projects.

    The Built Environment Team has a number of Local Authority and private sector clients appointed to deliver projects with a range of outputs, including residential, commercial, retail and leisure uses including infrastructure and Public Realm.

    The Built Environment Team is currently made up of two Directors, two Senior Development Managers, an Assistant Project Manager, Apprentice Project Manager and a Graduate.

    We are currently expanding the team across Manchester and Leeds offices to support the continued growth of the service line.

    We are seeking an Assistant Director to join the growing team to provide support in the delivery of projects in this fast paced dynamic team that is successfully delivering a programme of multi-million pound developments.

    The ideal candidate would be energetic, committed and willing to support the wider team to complete identified work streams within a wider work programme alongside strong Business Development capabilities.

    Strong communication skills are necessary with a co-ordinated organised approach to delivery of tasks alongside the ability to work independently and think outside the box, including direct Line Management responsibility.

    To lead on the development and implementation of individual regeneration projects & initiatives and their integration and co-ordination within wider regeneration strategies.

    To develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and partners such as Local Authorities and other key parties as identified by the Client which may include public sector organisations such as TfGM, Department for Transport, Network Rail, Homes England.

    Coordination of multi-disciplinary teams (internal Gleeds teams as well as our external supply chain) including preparation of required scope/s of services and management of procurement processes.

    To monitor individual project budgets and wider Built Environment Team budgets
    Leading on the Built Environment Teams wider Business Development Strategy and feed in to organisation wide Business Planning
    Reviewing and analysis of other technical inputs which are pertinent to the project appointed on.

    Support colleagues and input in the development of reports to committees, business cases, and external funding bids, where required.

    Effectively communicate information, project updates & expectations to team members & stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, including the delivery of engaging and informative presentations.

    Delivering high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures.

    Continuous development of a professional network in order to maintain a high profile for Gleeds and to generate new business.

    Relevant experience of working on a project in a responsible role including Line Management and budget responsibilities
    ~ A clear understanding of regeneration issues and related policy fields in the areas of physical development of the built environment, regeneration and project delivery application.
    ~ An understanding of the development process: town planning, development appraisals, policy context, funding and legal aspects of delivering development.
    ~ Experience of effective engagement with key stakeholders such as the public, local Members/Councillors, property owners, investors and grant funders alike
    ~ Knowledge and experience in commissioning external consultants and contractors, including a demonstrable understanding of public procurement regulations.
    ~ Local Authority understanding and working experience, as a Client or employee (desired but not essential).
