We are currently seeking a dedicated Fire Door Inspector to join our team in ensuring the highest standards of safety across our housing portfolio.

Fire Door Inspector

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough fire door inspections according to established cycles, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Record inspection findings and arrange necessary repairs to guarantee compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with crossdepartmental teams to implement control systems for surveys, inspections, and maintenance of fire doors.
Provide technical advice and exceptional customer service throughout the inspection process.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, recommendations, and remedial actions, ensuring a robust audit trail.
Identify opportunities for service improvements and make recommendations for implementation.
Keep abreast of current legislation, best practices, and technical developments in the construction industry.

Requirements:

Fire Door Inspection training or relevant experience (willingness to work toward a qualification).
Experience working in a health and safety/inspection environment, preferably within a local authority or similar organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with stakeholders.
Flexibility to adapt within a dynamic work environment and a commitment to continuous learning.
Political sensitivity and ability to engage effectively with elected members.
Proficiency in using ICT tools for data analysis and presentation.
