    Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's leading NHS Trusts focusing on mental health, learning disabilities and autism. We run 150 services catering to a population of million people in five of the eastern boroughs of Greater Manchester.

    The charitable arm of the NHS Trust, Pennine Care Charity, has just hired its first Director to lead the organisation in significantly expanding the money and profile that it raises to support the work of the Trust. As the Fundraising Assistant, you will be the second full-time staff member and they key person supporting the Director in this exciting new venture.

    The ideal candidate will be someone with who has an interest in mental health issues and would love a job that mixes efficient administration with a desire to work with people in the local community to help raise funds for Pennine Care.

    Main duties of the job

    This role is to provide high quality, professional fundraising and administrative support to Pennine Care Charity, acting as the main channel for communication with colleagues within the Trust and external organisations and stakeholders.

    The post holder will be primarily responsible for undertaking community fundraising, individual giving, legacy and in memoriam giving under the direction of the Charity Director as well as supporting the Director in an administrative capacity for the other areas of fundraising.

    In addition, you will provide a high level of administrative support to the Charitable Funds Committee and be responsible for managing all bids and donations on behalf of the Trust.

    The post holder requires excellent interpersonal skills and organisational ability and must be flexible and able to work on their own initiative.

    You will be expected to demonstrate high levels of integrity, independent judgement and commitment to the Trust to provide a comprehensive administrative service, and a consistently high standard ensuring professionalism, quality and integrity

    The Fundraising Assistant will be a central role in helping realise this ambition through providing outstanding administrative and fundraising support under the direction of the new Director.

    Job responsibilities

    Main Duties and Responsibilities Undertake community fundraising, individual giving and legacy and in memoriam fundraising under the guidance of the Charity Director. Support the Charity Director in their fundraising efforts. Administer bids for charitable funds from the Trusts services. Prepare papers for the Quarterly Charitable Funds Committee, which is a sub-committee of the main Trust board Prepare the Charitable Funds Committee Chairs report to the Board of Directors. Keep accurate records of the charitys income and expenditure Formally acknowledge any donations in a timely manner and keep records of this. Manage the charitys email account. Manage any grants received from external sources, via NHS Charities Together Administer and authorise the Trusts Team Wellbeing Big Thank You bids. Liaise with the Trusts Accounts Payable Team to ensure accurate recording of income and expenditure. Bank any donations the Charity receives via cheque Dealing with service users/donors Represent the Trust/Charity in virtual meetings with external organisations

  • Good standard level of education o Training and/or experience to RQF Level 4 (eg NVQ 4, Diploma)
  • Microsoft Office Suite o Experience in an administrative or secretarial role o Providing support to sub board committees o Working with service users/donors
