    About the role

Climate change is the biggest challenge facing our generation. The transition to clean energy is critical to helping us achieve the goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. As National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK, we have a big part to play in supporting the delivery of a decarbonised energy system.

As Performance Manager you'll lead a specialist team to set performance standards and KPIs to drive the safety culture both within the Safety, Health, Environmental & Communities (SHEC) team and more broadly across NGET, to deliver the Safety, Health, Environment and Responsible Business culture we need.

You'll engage with stakeholders, to drive and embed new initiatives and ensure they're cascaded to all relevant teams. In addition, you'll find opportunities to outperform our ambitious targets both in the current and the next regulatory period.

You'll be responsible for the quality and delivery of governance papers to the Executive team, ensuring a clear SHEC message underpins all submissions. You'll also provide insights and work with stakeholders across NGET to find ways to drive improvements.

We're flexible on where you're based and support hybrid working however there will be a need to travel to our offices in Warwick at least once a fortnight.

    What you'll need

You're likely to have a performance or data analysis background, with experience of drawing out and interpreting key messages and engaging with stakeholders.

With a broad knowledge of SHEC, and transformation and change management capability, you'll have a sound understanding of governance and risk management.

You'll have strong data management and manipulation skills, coupled with project management experience on a full range of projects. Stakeholder management is also key, and you'll have experience in leading an analytical team.
