    Description

    An amazing opportunity is available for a Prosecutions Lawyer to join a Midlands based Local Authority on a locum basis.

    Responsibilities for this role may include:

    • Handling all aspects of licensing such as taxis, premises, events, and street trading. This involves providing related advice, attending licensing committee meetings, appeals, and prosecutions.
    • Dealing with trading standards prosecutions and providing related advice.
    • Managing education prosecutions.
    • Overseeing food safety prosecutions and HEPOs.
    • It would be beneficial, though not mandatory, for the lawyer to have experience in prosecutions related to planning, environmental crime, and Health & Safety.
    • Attending licensing committee hearings approximately twice a month and court hearings 4-5 times a month will be required.

    The ideal candidate should be able to attend licensing committees & Court in person on a full-time basis, although part-time applicants are welcome to apply.
