    I am working with a design-led led privately owned house builder in Southampton who are looking to strengthen their team with a land buyer.

    The role would focus on identifying, negotiating and acquiring new sites in the Hampshire, sussex and Berkshire areas and working closely with land agents and housing associations to secure new sites.

    You would report to the Land Director and have full autonomy over projects with the position being a high-profile one in the business.

    You will have an intimate knowledge of the planning process and know how to project manage planning applications through the planning system.

    You will work closely with the internal and external consultants to successfully manage the projects through the development lifecycle.

    Ideally, you will currently be working for one of the leading house builders or residential property developers but I am also keen to hear from senior candidates working in development consultancy.

    It is essential that you have experience in land buying for large Plc house builders or residential developers and that you have worked in Hampshire, sussex or Berkshire.

    Keeping contact with housing associations looking to do partnership JV's.

    Liaising and negotiating with landowners and agents of potential purchasesOverseeing legal, planning and design consultants pre and post-acquisitionKeeping up to date with town planning policy and specifically in key areas you are targeting for letter writingExpected experiencesDegree-qualified and ideal property-relatedNatural born deal maker doing 1-2 land deals a year consistently.

    Experienced senior land manager or land manager ready to make the step up.
    Detailed understanding of the planning application and appeals process.
    A strong network of contacts in the land agency world.
