Indirect Tax Assistant Manager - Belfast (Hybrid)

Our Big 4 client with an expanding and award-winning team is looking for an experienced Indirect Tax Assistant Manager to join their advisory tax department. This role offers opportunities for career progression and excellent exposure to complex tax areas. You will work with a strong team of indirect tax experts who collaborate closely to support each other.

Responsibilities:

1. Providing a top-class tax service to a portfolio of clients across various industries
2. Corresponding with both HMRC and clients on tax affairs, including advising on and submitting UK VAT registrations
3. General duties related to all indirect tax matters, including delivering VAT reporting, ensuring VAT compliance, and identifying/mitigating VAT risks
4. Liaising with and managing the working relationship with HMRC during audits and ad hoc enquiries, sometimes leading to preparing voluntary disclosures
5. Advising on cross-border VAT supplies and the impact of the UK's exit from the EU
6. Performing due diligence work on the indirect tax position of UK tax resident entities being bought or sold
7. Performing supply chain reviews and working with Customs colleagues to help clients optimize supply arrangements
8. Preparing and delivering seminars to clients and industry bodies
9. Working with managers, directors, and partners to ensure the smooth running of the department
10. Contributing to sustaining and growing client business, proposing and winning new business

About You:

Requirements:
- Proven record of commitment to professional and client service excellence
- Strong communicator with demonstrated ability to work as part of a successful team
- Ideally CTA qualified or ACA qualified with a minimum of 1 year indirect tax experience
- Strong commercial and market awareness
