    About the RoleThe Royal Horticultural Society is seeking a dedicated individual to join them as a Data Fellowship Apprentice In this role, you will be at the forefront of capturing, managing and disseminating plant-based information to support internal teams and external audiences.

    If you have a passion for data and an interest in joining an organisation dedicated to the beauty and sustainability of plants, then this role is perfect for youA typical dayAssist the team in ensuring our plant knowledge data is up to date across databases and by contributing to data updating and by working with specialists to add to and update plant information.

    Collaborate with other departments to create, analyse and extract value from data held in the core RHS datasets.
    Perform statistical analysis of data to predict trends in our membership and other key customers.

    Validate results of analysis using various techniques, e.g cross checking, to identify faults in data results and to ensure data quality.

    Use tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs.

    Preparing reports and present to management or other key contacts, both internal and external to the RHS.Participate in projects and represent the Horticultural Information Team on wider RHS and external projects.

    Identify and recommend new ways to improve our work in order to improve/streamline business processes.

    Keep up to date with technological developments and current thinking to enhance your skills and professional development and share learnings on to the teamYou must haveGCSE English & Maths 4-9 (C-A*) or equivalentSkills NeededGreat interpersonal and teamwork skills.

    Good with in-person and virtual forms of communication.
    Some experience with handling data and/or spreadsheets.
    The ability to manipulate and transform data making data understandable to a wide range of people.
    A good attention to detail.
    A thorough and organised approach to your work.
    A can-do attitude.

    An interest in horticulture, biodiversity or climate crises is desired but not required to apply.
