    What to expect

    As a dynamic MS Power BI specialist, you will be someone who is adept at data modelling, data visualization and dataset preparation, to deliver and implement effective reporting solutions.

    As a Microsoft Power BI specialist, you will enhance Data Value Realisation and its ability to deliver a complete customer focused service to the organisation for all its Business Intelligence needs, be the go-to person, provide advice and support where needed and help to deliver excellence in all areas, helping to uphold a service focused, customer centric approach

    As an advocate for Power BI, you will need to maintain, support and develop POL's Power BI expertise. The role represents an exciting opportunity to work with others across the team and the wider organisation to help deliver and develop solutions that provide meaningful data for the business, helping the team deliver quality and value to its customers.

    Assist in the delivery of quality solutions using Microsoft Power BI Business Intelligence tools

    Design, develop, implement and support various reporting solutions

    Develop reports, dashboards and scorecards, data exploration, and visual analytics using existing and emerging technologies and tools

    Provide feedback and coaching of other team members in the use of Microsoft Power BI and related technologies

    Work with the function to set up 'self-serve' reports and dashboards that can be used to drive efficiencies

    Identify trends within the data and, using forecasting methods, make pro-active recommendations that increases profits for the Company

    Work closely with the data engineer to help define strategy

    Contribute to the development of overall processes within the BI and Data Engineering Function

    Proactively seek opportunities from across the Organisation to improve the BI and Data Engineering infrastructure

    Responsible for ensuring compliance with any specific legislative, regulatory, or contractual requirements, including all POL policies, such as; the key policies and procedures on Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, Business Continuity, Data Protection and Equal Opportunities

    What you'll need to succeed
  • A degree in Computer Science of equivalent
  • Strong SQL and Power BI (DAX or Power Query or R) skills Experience in developing reports
  • Proven experience as a BI Developer
  • In-depth knowledge of Power BI
  • Experience of data warehouse design (dimensional modelling)
  • Ability to ingest various data sources
  • Experience in creating APIs for Power BI
  • Experience of Power Query
