Description
We have an exciting career development opportunity for a full time Income Management Officer within the Income team.

You will provide a professional, customer focused service, and be responsible for rent collection and arrears recovery in a geographic area in a busy team.

You will ensure customers receive the best advice and support they can if they face financial difficulties and refer to the relevant agencies, when necessary.


We are looking for an individual who is an excellent negotiator and able to make agreements and payment plans for tenants who are in rent arrears; whilst having a firm but fair approach.

You will be performance focused to achieve individual and service targets, whilst maintaining regular contact with those in arrears, and take proactive and early intervention to keep debts to a minimum and prevent debts increasing.

You will make regular contacts through phone, text, letters, e mail and visits and ensure that you engage with tenants to get the best possible outcome.


Additionally, you will have a good understanding of the welfare benefit system, including Universal Credit, and be able to advise customers of any potential claims they could make to assist them with their rent payments.


You will be required to use appropriate legal remedies for breaches of tenancy due to non - payment of rent and attend court and evictions when necessary.

You will be organised and able to ensure that you have collated all relevant case notes and details to prepare cases for court and attending and presenting cases at court hearings.

You will be a good team player and to work flexibly across the team

The successful applicant will be required to undergo security checks as part of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard for accessing Government records.

This will include a Basic DBS check.
