- Developing and executing strategies to identify and cultivate prospective customers in the UK: soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
- Assessing the feasibility and financial viability of potential ventures as well as setting targets, milestones and metrics to measure success.
- Pitching multiple stakeholders online and in-person.
- Identifying prospect's needs and suggest appropriate products/services.
- Gaining an understanding of equipment/technology used, by working closely with internal teams to make technical presentations to demonstrate how the equipment meets client needs.
- Co-ordinating sales process with technical colleagues to finalise and close deals.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations and more.
- Closing high value sales and long term agreements.
- Assessing competitors by analysing and summarising competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities. Collecting and updating local market insights, monitoring competitors' activities (services and pricing), and sharing pertinent information when needed.
- Reporting on KPI's to Director with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results.
- Experience in sales/business development, preferably in the waste biomass or renewable energy, engineering or tech industries, but we are open to considering candidates from other industries
- Proven track record of surpassing sales targets in business development.
- You will bring business development experience of high value complex sales (ideally £100k+ to £m's) and sales cycles of longer than 12 months.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to become conversant with scientific and engineering considerations underpinning the solution.
- Experienced in prospecting, relationship building, and lead generation.
- Interest in the development of renewable technology in the waste biomass industry.
- Confident in conversing with C-level client contacts about complex concepts.
- Enjoys consistently increasing their knowledge on the latest industry news and trends to stay up to date with the new projects and players within waste biomass or clean energy.
