A bit about the role
:

Working in a team with the Assistant Director Policy, Process and Major Projects and the Operations Policy team, the Head of Operations Policy for Home Ownership will play a critical role in driving the end-to-end policy operational policy requirements of Home Ownership programmes.

You will be leading a small but friendly and high performing team who are committed to achieving the objective of delivering home ownership products to customers by providing industry service standard service to them whilst also ensuring we adhere to managing public money principles.

We believe in working in an open and collaborative environment to foster policy discussions, good decision-making and problem solving to ensure Government's high priority home ownerships objectives are delivered and longer-term performance of the equity loan portfolio.

This is a rare chance to shape the future of home ownership policies in England in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose.

Working with key stakeholders within Home Ownership directorate, Homes England corporate functions (e.g., Legal, Consumer Risk and Finance), Government (e.g., DLUHC) and lenders and trade bodies, you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective implementation of Government's home ownership strategic policies.

The role will deliver policy objectives and implement scheme policies to the highest standards and advise Government of the practical implications of policy concepts, including implementing new policy and supporting the ongoing review and iteration of Government policies to ensure delivery of strategic objectives.

This is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery and managing a small team whilst bringing innovative solutions to improving the delivery of government funded home ownership scheme and advising wider government departments in their decision making.

A bit about you:

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders on home ownership policies, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting home ownership in England through the provision of home ownership products to customers.

You will ideally have housing or financial service experience in managing home ownership schemes or loan products, with a good understanding of how lending products work and the operational risks associated with managing them.

You will be comfortable leading and delivering projects as well as managing stakeholders at a senior level, and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of the scheme policies.

As an experienced operational policy professional, you'll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as a leader or as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
