Electrical and Electronic Design Engineer

Responsibilities of Electrical and Electronic Design Engineer will include the following:
- Design development, product realisation and test
Providing accurate work status information to project manager
Prepare cost estimates for quotes
Design electrical / electronic elements and sub-assemblies of test systems
Design PCBs when necessary
Research & source specific items when required
Work within project time-scales and costs
Communicate with customers and other project engineers to clarify requirements / meet specifications
Produce & maintain accurate electrical drawing packages (including schematics, Bill of Materials and wiring schedules).
Work closely with manufacturing dept. to inform and answer queries during assembly / test stages
Provide effective testing
Attend Factory and/or Site Acceptance Testing with customer when required
Generate product reference documentation / handbooks when required
The Electrical and Electronic Design Engineer should have the following skills or experience:
Minimum. 3 to 4 years industry related experience in Electrical / Electronic engineering at design / implementation level
Good understanding of manufacturing requirements (in terms of electrical production)
Methodical & organised approach to working and producing documentation
Ability to work on a variety of projects.
Good fault finding skills
The ability to anticipate problems and assess possible solutions
An enquiring mind with an appetite to know "more" - there will be opportunities to learn other aspects of the company's business & skill set.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Formal engineering qualification in Electrical and Electronic / Electronic / Electrical design
- Minimum 3 years industry related experience in electrical engineering at design / implementation level
- Possess all requirements for successfully meeting formal Security Check (SC) criteria
- Familiarity with analogue and digital interface circuits
- Design / drawing office experience including AutoCAD (or equivalent) an advantage
- Experience with National Instruments hardware/software an advantage
