£440.00 PAYE P/D or £571.27 Umbrella P/D
Hybrid minimum of 2 days a week
Duration - 5 months with the possibility of extensions
**Role Summary: HSBC are currently searching for an ambitious, analytical and organised Valuation Controller to join their Valuations and Analytics Group in Product Control. This is a unique opportunity to work at HSBC within their Valuations and Analytics Group in ProductControl which offers support and rewards that will take you further within your career.
**Role Purpose: The Valuations and Analytics Group in Product Control is a global team responsible for all aspects of the calculation of fair value for traded instruments in Global Markets and additionally undertakes oversight and support for fair value calculations acrossthe rest of HSBC Group (predominantly Global Banking and Corporate Centre). The Valuations and Analytics Group is part of Global Product Control and is split into 4 main areas of (1) Quantitative Analytics including Models (2) Fair Value Methodology (3) Production,and (4) Reporting, Governance & Analysis.
The role of Valuation Controller Non-MSS sits within the Product Control Structure.
The individual will support valuations for Non-Global Markets businesses, including Strategic Innovative Investments (SII), Principal investments (PI), Syndication and othernon-GM businesses, as well as support adhoc Fair and Prudent Value conversations from part of the group globally.
The role holder will assist management in conversations on valuations with the stakeholders who are responsible for their respective businesses.
**Key Responsible- Calculation of monthly Fair Value Adjustments & quarterly Prudent Valuation Adjustments for HSBC Holdings and Global Treasury businesses.
- Performing Fair Value calculations for investments within the Strategic Innovation Investments and Markets & Securities Services Investments on a quarterly basis.
- Researching and updating the financial information of listed comparative firms for investments within the Strategic Innovation Investments and Markets & Securities Services Investments on a quarterly basis.
- Estimates of company valuations using standard techniques.
- Fair Value Levelling of positions in both Global Banking and Private Equity business areas.
- Project work including automation and streamlining processes.
- Ad hoc analysis for management or the business, in particular research around new investments.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) skills
- Sound judgement and problemsolving skills, ability to think laterally
- Keen sense of urgency able to achieve results quickly
- Good understanding of the financial markets.
- A professional Finance qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
