    Venator is currently recruiting for a Process Engineer to join the White End Operations team.

    The overall purpose of the Process Engineer role is to provide technical, operational and process safety support to the White End team and drive continuous improvement of the plant process and operational performance.

    Job responsibilities include:

  • Keep up to date with latest technologies and improvement techniques and drive continuous improvement of the plant's performance by identifying and implementing improvement opportunities to achieve the current and future capacity, variable costs, overall operating effectiveness and product quality.
  • Ensure that all process incidents or losses are investigated using appropriate problem-solving tools so that improvements can be made to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor plant operations, diagnose adverse trends, define and implement corrective actions to achieve operating performance targets.
  • Analyse process and production metrics on a daily/weekly basis, reviewing KPI's, operating logs, DCS trends, PI trends, quality lab results, and other sources of data to ensure reliable, consistent, and cost- effective operations. Intervene where appropriate to identify and resolve operating issues.
  • Specify area operating constraints/opportunities to allow definition of an optimised production plan.
  • Lead and provide technical chemical engineering input to safety reviews, PHAs, RCAs, safety committees, risk assessments and incident investigations and complete appropriate actions arising from these.
  • Provide technical understanding, oversight, guidance and training to the operations teams to ensure a high level of competence within the team.
  • Provide technical chemical engineering support to the plant team and take an active role in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Ensure thorough safety assessment of plant modifications so that any changes to process technology, plant operating and maintenance methods, plant equipment or staffing are evaluated appropriately to mitigate the risks.
  • Develop, review and update technical documentation, including procedures and P&IDs for the white end.
  • Lead plant trials ensuring that thorough technical and safety assessments are carried out in a timely manner and trial is communicated appropriately with the manufacturing team.
  • Perform process monitoring and data analysis and prepare data for presentation in several forums, structuring information to meet the needs of the intended audience.
  • Audit Asset operating standards through reviews to ensure operation within Site and Regulatory requirements (COMAH).
  • Act as a White End process subject matter expert to the projects team to ensure projects installed meet the operational and safety requirements of the plant, including installation and commissioning plans. Assist Maintenance and Operations during planned maintenance events by providing process engineering recommendations, assisting in planning specialty work, performing equipment inspections related to process issues and participate in plant restarts.
  • Promote environmental performance and environmental compliance ensuring all issues are investigated and resolved.
  • Live and demonstrate behaviours that drive a positive values-based culture.
  • Candidate requirements:

    Job-Related work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Chemical / Process engineering graduate.
  • 2+ years' industry experience working in a 24/7 industrial environment including: Complex Fault Finding Support Operations Teams Development, implementation & evaluation of improvements and modifications.(Management of Change) Involvement in projects from feasibility to handover.
  • Manufacturing operational experience including manufacturing improvement and delivery of measurable business benefits.
  • Experienced in leading problem-solving teams both cross-functional and within Production, Engineering and Technical functions (lead, coach, engage).
  • Proven ability to think through problems, undertake appropriate analysis and take effective actions.
  • Strong communicator and influencer, skilled at mobilising and inspiring technical contributors with or without direct line management authority, at all levels in a manufacturing organization.
  • Well-developed IT skills (including Excel, PI / FIS, MiniTab) including the ability to create tools within the packages.
