Marketing and Communications Officer


  • Responsible to: Director of Operations
  • Location: Flexible but must be willing to travel to our London office at least once a month
  • Permanent, part/full time (45 days). We'll also consider a job share of 23 days each

Background


With new leadership, Keychange wants to reinvigorate its existing supporter base and bring its unique work to a new audience.

Keychange is a Christian Charity working in elderly social care and homeless communities.

Keychange provides care, support, development, and well-being services across eleven sites in England, consisting of nine residential Care Homes for older people and two Housing Communities for young people.

Our office in London supports communities with central services to enable them to operate at the most effective level with focussed on delivering quality care.


About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic Marketing and Communicators Officer to help us increase our visibility, attract new supporters, expand our workforce, and ultimately enhance the quality of life for the people we work with.


This position is a full time role however we would consider two part-time roles, in this scenario, salary would be calculated pro rata.

Responsibilities

Marketing and communications strategy

  • Help develop and implement a strategy to build engagement among the supporter base.
  • Create a reactivation programme with lapsed supporters.

Messaging and Branding

  • Help shape the organisation's messaging to effectively communicate our mission and impact.
  • Help lead a brand refresh and ensure consistent branding across all communication channels and materials.

Content Creation and Management:


  • Develop compelling stories and case studies that highlight the impact of Keychange's programs and initiatives.
  • Maintaining and developing our comms calendar and content library.

Digital Marketing:


  • Help lead a website redesign project, from scoping and UX through to design and launch.
  • Monitor and analyse website analytics to make datadriven improvements and optimise user experience.

Training and support

Working with community managers to:

  • Create social media content that builds the profile of their community and communicates the work in a way that engages clients and the wider community.
  • Build relations between Keychange and external organisations including and local healthcare providers.
  • Help prospective clients see the value of our unique work.
  • Support recruitment

Fundraising

  • Work with the team to create our case for support.
  • Build in fundraising asks to the communications strategy.
  • Explore opportunities to grow our income streams, particularly individual giving and community fundraising.

Key skills and competencies

Essential

  • Proven experience in a marketing or communications role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Project management experience working with colleagues across different teams to drive activity to completion, delivering against deadlines in a fastmoving environment and reporting on progress.
  • Strong skills in storytelling and creating compelling content.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in managing a website CMS, social media management and digital marketing strategies.
  • Familiarity with CRM, SEO, and analytics tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for supporting and enabling others.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Teams.

Desirable

  • Experience within the charity sector.
  • Digital design and editing skills, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in fundraising, particularly individual giving and community fundraising.
