We are brave, we are ambitious, we are honest, and we are Citizen*We are looking for a Team Leader to join our busy grounds maintenance team to maintain our estates in Coventry. This role will require you to carry out the day to day running of a dedicated grounds maintenance team on our Estates in Coventry. You will ensure that the team completes daily work schedules to a high standard, and you will be responsible for the first line management of the team, undertaking performance reviews, one to one meetings and sickness review meetings.
In housing you can make a real difference, the role of Team Leader will involve:
- Coordinating a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives, providing first point of contact supervision and advice
- Contributing to the quality & appearance of Citizen Estates through the undertaking of a ground's maintenance schedule.
- Ensuring all equipment used by the service is kept in a good condition and organise repairs and servicing that is required
- Completing records for your team using our computer systems
- Supervising a team of Grounds Maintenance Operatives, providing first line management, undertaking performance development reviews, one to one's and return to work interviews.
- Delivering the highest level of conduct, leading by example to ensure Citizen key aims, values and objectives are delivered.
As Team Leader, we need you to have:
- Previous Grounds Maintenance experience
- Proven ability to work at management level within an operational environment
- A good understanding of computer systems in order to maintain records of performance of the teams and to be able to communicate with other areas of the business
- Health and Safety practises in the work place
- Ability to maintain, develop and lead a team and promote a positive image of the company.
- Ability to carry out basic training and/or arrange the required training for team members
- Ability to deal with poor performance and attendance, including first line conduct of disciplinary, capability matters and sickness attendance.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all parts of the company.
- Team player with the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.
- Holding a clean and relevant driving licence, experience driving with a trailer is desirable
- Holding a qualification in Grounds/ Horticulture would be desirable
- Ability to work to and meet varying deadlines

- PA1 & PA6 spraying licence
